During that time, he has been recognized as a professional artist with works exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute (Wilson Hall), Northern Illinois University, American University (Washington DC,) Bryggens Museum(Bergen,Norway), Pier Arts Center (Stromness,Orkney) Central Bureau for Cultural Exchanges (London) to mention a few.
As an educator, he has been selected over the years to be part of Cultural Exchange Delegations to Brazil, Russia,
and Lithuania through Partners of the Americas and the Samantha Smith Foundation. During his Fulbright year in Scotland he helped to develop a collaborative arts program between the Orkney Islands Education Council, Aberdeen College, and USA schools.
His efforts to encourage global collaboration through the arts can be seen today as part of 21st Century project (EYE TO EYE) designed and implemented through the International Education and Resource Network (New York) and the Frates Creative Arts Center in Laconia, New Hampshire. iEARN (International Education and Resource Network) is the world’s largest non-profit global network that enables teachers and youth to use the Internet and other technologies to collaborate on projects that enhance learning and make a difference in the world.
He is now performing throughout New England with his original Positive Self-Image assembly programs YOU ARE THE MAGIC! The shows are designed for elementary, middle, and high school audiences using magic, caricatures, cartoon storytelling, audience participation, and speed painting to bring home the message of MAKING GOOD CHOICES.
Throughout his career, Larry has balanced his ability to think with creativity and his passion to teach through creativity. As an art teacher, curriculum coordinator, creative consultant, or artistic director for the On Stage Theater Company, he continues to act as a catalyst for “creative change and real-world innovation.”
He is presently an adjunct professor of Fine Arts at Southern New Hampshire University and has served as Clinical Supervisor of Art Ed in the Graduate School at Plymouth State University, the New Hampshire Department of Education’s Arts Advisory Board and President of the ON STAGE THEATER COMPANY.
